Slavo’s Steak, Asparagus and Baked Potato Campfire Dinner

Camping food doesn't need to be bland and boring ! Ditch your kitchen for a campfire and impress your friends and family with your outdoor cooking skills!

Ingredients:

1. New York or Ribeye steaks – 1 per camper (I like to have one extra steak when doing this to slice up the next day for steak and egg breakfast burritos)

2. Russet potatoes – 1 per camper (When loading up your food at home wash, poke, rub the potatoes generously with butter then wrap in aluminum foil tightly twice)

3. Asparagus – 1 bunch for every 3-4 campers

4. Slavo Salt

5. Grapeseed oil

Preparation:

Start your fire an hour or two before you begin cooking, you want more hot coals than burning logs as this provides even heat across your grill. Place the wrapped potatoes on the outer ring of the coals and rotate them every 5 minutes or so.

Rub the steaks very lightly with oil and season generously with Slavo Salt. Don’t be afraid to use a heavy hand as a lot of it will come off in the cooking process. Throw the steaks on the grill for 3-5 minutes then flip and repeat. Once the steaks are cooked to your preference, pull them off and set aside.

Then, lightly toss/rub oil on the asparagus, season with Slavo Salt and place on the grill. Pull the potatoes off the coals (45 minutes total cook time). Once the asparagus gets some nice char pull them off as well (3-5 minutes). Dress up your potatoes with cheese, sour cream, pre-chopped green onions, butter, Slavo Salt and Boom! That’s how you camp cook!
