Slavo's Beef Stroganoff

Cold weather means warm comfort food. Beef stroganoff is one of our favorite winter meals. Here's my recipe for the perfect stroganoff - we add extra mushrooms because 'shrooms are amazing.

Slavo's Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients

1 ½ pounds beef sirloin steak cut 1/2 inch thick

16 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced (2 1/2 cups)

2 medium onions, thinly sliced

1 garlic clove, finely chopped

¼ cup butter

4 cups beef broth

1 tablespoon Original All Purpose Slavo Salt

¼ cup flour

2 cups sour cream

3 cups hot cooked egg noodles

Preparation

Cut beef across grain into about 1 1/2x1/2-inch strips.

Cook mushrooms, onions and garlic in butter or oil in large skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until onions are tender; remove from skillet.

Cook beef in same skillet until brown.

Stir in 3 cups of the broth. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 15 minutes.

Stir remaining 1 cup of broth into flour; stir into beef mixture.

Add onion mixture; heat to boiling, stirring constantly.

Boil and stir 2 minutes until thickened. Stir in sour cream; reduce heat (do not boil).

Season to taste with Original Slavo Salt. Serve over noodles.
