You know, we live in an interesting time. Our world has had the most monumental technological booms in history in the past 30 years. Our society has become one of consumption, based with an emphasis on style or the pursuit there of. Too often we find ourselves imitating what we think is cool or keeping up with the Kardashians and shit. “There’s never enough time anymore” – bullshit! We have gotten away from the simplicity of just making a meal and eating together – the sharing of food and conversation. Plus let’s face, it intimate dinners are money. Which, whether you’re willing to admit it to yourself or not – we all would like them to lead to a bit of physical stimuli. Food and sex baby – makes the world go round. Truth! I say skip a night out on the town and just hangout and actually be real.
So think about this – and this is only a thought I don’t often do this but I do know it’s a hell of a lot of fun. Save yourself the money if nothing else. Getting all primped and pampered is costly enough save on some good libations and the trendy restaurant with mediocre service and even worse food. Ask someone to come over and have dinner with you. It seems like something we’ve gotten so far away from in exchange for alternatives that appear to me to be more superficial than fulfilling. By the way, this is more than applicable to significant others – especially them. There’s something really nice about just hanging out listening to music and chatting while you make a meal together. Don’t worry about the clock or if it turns out fanfukntastic. So why not pick a friend or foe and cook a dinner?
There’s a couple ways to go about the executing the food – the other crap you gotta figure out on your own amigo. You can either have “Pat” come over prior to the meal being ready, you could have Pat chill while you cook, Pat can handle the ipod, or does Pat could come over just as you Emril that goodness out from under the counter ready to eat – BAM! But this again is the part you’ve got google-map yourself. I’m just giving you some ideas of what to eat.
